Description
Rosa centifolia, also known as Cabbage Rose, Rose de Mai, Moroccan Rose or Provence Rose, is a hybrid rose developed by Dutch rose breeders in the period between the 17th century. It has a deep, rich, spicy, sweet aroma that carries a honey-like warmth, making it slightly fuller than Rosa alba but still very approachable. Emotionally, Rosa centifolia is known for promoting relaxation, helping to ease feelings of tension and foster a sense of self-acceptance and inner peace. Its fuller fragrance is perfect for creating a nurturing environment, whether in skincare routines or emotional healing practices.
This plant blooms from the month of May and the harvest takes place in the morning, at dawn, thus it is also called Rose of May, or May Rose. Rosa centifolia contains a few vitamins and antioxidants that help moisturize dry skin. Its astringent properties help tighten pores and reduce the redness and inflammation due to distended capillaries. When applied to the skin, this Rosa Centifolia infused oil may help relieve pain and inflammation while improving the overall quality of the skin.
This Rosa Centifolia infused oil can be used as a base for beautiful skin care products such as body scrubs, salves, and lip balms. You can also use this as body oil, for applying to the skin immediately after showering or during a full-body massage protocol.
